LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM; 28 MAY 2026 – NME (nme.com), the globally renowned music and pop culture brand, today launches its latest print issue featuring experimental French/Mancunian band Mandy, Indiana on the cover.
Fresh off a standout run of live performances – including an appearance on the NME Stage at The Great Escape – the band speak candidly with NME about intensity, survival, art and holding onto hope in an increasingly fractured world.
Reflecting on the immersive and confrontational energy of the band’s industrial noise-punk, guitarist Scott Fair tells NME: “I think there would be zero point in listening to our music at low volumes… Our music is the equivalent of somebody grabbing you by the shoulders.”
The feature also explores the realities of making art in today’s economic climate. Vocalist Valentine Caulfield says: “You are losing such a big part of the tapestry if [only rich people] can afford to make art.” Elsewhere, she reflects on resilience and optimism: “You have to keep your eye on something [hopeful], because otherwise, you’ll just drown.”
The issue captures a broad spectrum of music and culture shaping the moment, with profiles of rising artists and NME 100 acts No Na and Sofia Isella, conversations with acclaimed singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone and Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur, and deep dives into the creative worlds of legendary filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, writer and actor Richard Gadd, and actor Elijah Wood. The Reviews section takes on major new releases from Robyn, RAYE and BTS, alongside the latest seasons of The Boys and Beef.
As a special bonus, this edition of NME Magazine is released alongside the latest issue of Guitar.com Magazine, featuring Grace Bowers on the cover. The breakout guitarist reflects on the discipline behind her rapid rise and the resurgence of rock music: “I feel like there’s such a movement right now with hardcore and punk. Rock bands are coming back.” The issue also introduces Close Up, a new Guitar.com franchise spotlighting iconic instruments, beginning with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy’s legendary Manson Signature Black Edition guitar.
